Alphabet Songs Keep Us Moving

My family loves music, especially my three year old daughter, Little Miss H.  She will begin to dance every time she hears any tune, slow or fast.  One of our favorite activities is listening to different upbeat alphabet songs.  She's having a ball of fun and mommy has the added bonus of constructing creative ways for her to foster a love of learning.  One of our favorite alphabet song series is on Youtube.com, created by Have Fun Teaching.  Check it out, I bet you will want to jump up and move around to your favorite letters in the alphabet too!  Join the fun and jam to the alphabet songs!!!!!!

Book Finds

This is one of my favorite books to read with my three year old daughter, Little Miss H.  It reminds me of how much she LOVES her DADDY!  To get some of our favorite books, we usually have to shop online.

I usually find the books on some of my favorite blogs and then search for them on Amazon.  Usually, the local book stores never have them in stock.  However, when I've asked them to order the books, they have always done so.  It depends on who will have the best price after adding on the shipping fees from Amazon.

Where is your go-to place to find children's books for your little ones? Here are some popular places:

Homemade Love by bell hooks
Public Libraries
Children's Book Stores
The Typical Book Stores
Toy Stores
School Supply Stores
Book Clubs
Online Book Sellers
Border - Graphics From the Pond

Acting Out Reading

Sharing reading with students and little ones is an experience that builds future interest and a love for reading.  The SAG Foundation is sharing reading with our kiddos online.

A fun and fantastic website featuring actors reading some of our favorite stories awaits you and your students and little ones.  Check out the free service at Storyline Online. Once you make your selection, you will be directed to Youtube to view the actor reading the story to you.

You will find some of the following actors and books being read on their site:

Enemy Pie
Harry the Dirty Dog
To Be a Drum
Stellaluna
No Mirrors in My Nana's House

Tia and Tamara Mowry
James Earl Jones
Betty White
Melissa Gilbert
Al Gore
Hector Elizondo

There are plenty more actors reading the stories.  Check them out!!!

I'm Thankful

I'm thankful that my family and my teachers shared the love and skill of reading with me.

Not only do I like to read, but I love sharing the gift of reading with my own children and students even more.  To show my thanks, this blog is devoted to sharing book love, reading resources, and reading strategies from the best.
